چکیده
In this article, results obtained from a preliminary study that contains set of explicit dynamics finite element analyses metal plate bending process are presented through 3D asymmetrical three roller models. ANSYS Ls-Dyna (ED-FEA) preprocessor and solver were used to carry out dynamic simulations. Explicit low-velocity such as the roll-bending is computationally expensive method. Since plastic deformation occurs on in addition elastic flexure eventually possess circular geometry, material considered non-linear material. particular study, an aluminum was modeled with Bilinear Kinematic Hardening model including plasticity parameters tangent modulus. A very significant parameter called mass scaling factor taken into account be able define specific time-step determine computation time interval total temporal cost. However, exaggerated reduction unphysical consequences. The before after redesigning lower side rolls having convex geometry peripheral velocity upper roll rotation decreased minimize distortion occurred pre-bent walls plate.

Experimental and Finite Element Analyses of the Hydrostatic Cyclic Expansion Extrusion (HCEE) Process with Back-Pressure
It is generally known that severe plastic deformation processes with back pressure not only apply higher hydrostatic stress and more deformation compared to what a regular process can apply to a workpiece but also prevent surface defects in the workpiece during the process. Hydrostatic cyclic expansion extrusion (HCEE) was developed recently for processing long ultrafine-grained metals and allo...
متن کاملAnalysis of Roll Wear in Reshaping Using Finite Element Simulation
Reshaping process is a widely used method for producing tubes with non-circular cross sections. Owing to the friction between pipe and rolls, initial round pipe moves forward and consequently, it gradually formed into square or rectangular one. In practice, geometric profile of the rolls will be changed after a while. These changes would be detrimental the production of faultless products. Ther...
متن کاملDecomposition Contact Response (DCR) for Explicit Finite Element Dynamics
We propose a new explicit contact algorithm for finite element discretized solids and shells with smooth and nonsmooth geometries. The equations of motion are integrated in time with a predictor-corrector type algorithm. After each predictor step, the impenetrability constraints and the exchange of momenta between the impacting bodies are considered and enforced independently. The geometrically...
متن کاملFinite element approximation of large bending isometries
The mathematical description of the elastic deformation of thin plates can be derived by a dimension reduction from three-dimensional elasticity and leads to the minimization of an energy functional that involves the second fundamental form of the deformation and is subject to the constraint that the deformation is an isometry. We discuss two approaches to the discretization of the second order...
متن کاملOptimization of the strain distribution in the roll forming process using the desirability function and finite element methods
Defects of the roll forming process are affected by amount and situation of the strains distribution. The effect of the process parameters on the strain distribution in the round cross section roll forming process has been studied. Finite element and response surface method have been used for process modelling. Then desirability functions approach and overlaid counter plots have been employed f...
